  • Paul Schouten

    Elder / Shepherd

Paul’s spiritual foundation was established early on by his parents’ unwavering commitment to regular Scripture reading and church attendance and his Christian-based education. As such, this solid foundation in Scripture shaped the way this Edmonton-Alberta (Canada) native lives out his faith. In former congregations Paul has taught bible classes, sang in the church choir, and served on the committees that selected pastors and helped shape the direction of the Christian-Reformed church, the Church of his youth and early adult life. However, it was Paul’s two-year season of ministering troubled youth at The Birch Bay Ranch (Canada) that ultimately changed his faith and life. It is there he saw God at work watching God work and understood, perhaps for the first time, what it means to truly have an intimate relationship with God, rather than simply knowing about God “in theory;” to know by faith His grace, love, and mercy. Eventually Paul moved to the United States where, in Boston MA, he met Heather. Together they have lived in Williamsburg for 8 years. Their ministries at WCC include leading a missional community, serving as a part of the Kidz Connect Team, and leading a WCC ministry to serve the residents of Envoy, a local nursing home. Paul has been a Shepherding-Elder since 2017.

  • Erin Otis

Family Ministry (Pastors families children, birth to fifth grade)

Erin is a west coast girl who never thought God’s desire for her would include Williamsburg, Virginia. She moved here in the summer of 2010 with her husband Randy and two daughters, Hatti and Kya. As we all know, God’s desire is the only plan and serving the Lord with WCC and the Williamsburg community is a blessing beyond measure for Erin and her family. Erin has been involved in Children’s Ministry in various roles for fifteen years. Her role as Family Minister to children at WCC began in the fall of 2012. She is passionate about children and sharing the unending love of Christ with them. Erin loves to laugh and spend time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite activities are spending time at the beach, camping or her children’s sporting and school events.

  • Garrett Laubscher

Family Ministry (Pastors families of M/S, H/S Students)

Garrett has been the Family Minister to Students at WCC since 2004. Garrett grew up in Florida, a state with no winter the way God intended it. Garrett graduated from Florida Christian College with a degree in Bible and Youth and Family Counseling. It was during this time in college that he met and married Robin who balances him out pretty well. Before moving to WCC they worked at Geneva Park Church of Christ. Garrett loves summer, the beach, and hair. He’s a big fan of good music, from metal to folk. He loves to extend grace and love to as many as possible, helping to make His Kingdom come as he follows Jesus. Robin and Garrett have three kids: Olivia, Eden, and Grayson who teach them about God’s love for His Children.
