Family Ministry

We want to equip families to understand more fully what it means to be joined in God’s pursuit of restoring lives and renewing all things. To accomplish this our children and student ministries must promote a way of life for families that lead to spiritual formation and faithful participating in God’s mission, Sunday through Saturday.

Below you can read about our Children's Ministry (birth to 5th) and our Student Ministry (middle to high). Or feel free to download our Family Ministries Brochure HERE.  Download our latest newsletter HERE.

We want to equip families to understand more fully what it means to be "Joined in God's Pursuit of Restoring Lives." From our weekly Kidz Konnect to tools that are designed to model what it looks like to have meaningful times of devotion and worship at home, we want to serve our parents in creative ways so they become the disciple-makers Jesus intended. One way we do this is during the “Big Idea” time in our worship gatherings. This is where we share the God story for the week in a fun and engaging way with our kids (age 4 – 5th grade) and all of our WCC family. This way, entire families hear the same message and can share in it together.

As a ministry we want to make sure every child that comes into our presence knows and feels the love of Christ in and through us, and hears and sees the Gospel working among us. This means that loving and leading our children is not just a weekend approach. It is relationship bound together in a Kingdom-shaped lifestyle and grounded in the Gospel of King Jesus. So, in WCC's Children's ministry everything we do is driven by relationship, God's kingdom and His gospel.

All of our Children's Ministry servants are passionate about children. However, in order to be wise stewards of our children's precious lives, we ask that all people working with our children submit to a background check.

As for our weekend gatherings, here are two primary ways we seek to accomplish our vision:

Nursery: Our nursery provides a safe, comfortable, inviting atmosphere for children ages birth to 23 months. Nursery leaders pray over and tend to every child. We also offer a notification system for children who may need their parents during service times.

Kids Konnect: After the “Big Idea” kids are dismissed from the worship center to their “small groups”. Here they discuss deeper, the God story. They do this through discussion, games, crafts, videos and other engaging ways. This is done to connect with each child's learning style (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic). The children in 2nd – 5th grade celebrate Eucharist during the small group time as well.

Our children age 2 & 3 have Kidz Konnect as well. They begin their time in small group. Here they have “Big Idea” done in a similar fashion as in our worship gathering with the older children. They also have small group activities and some play time.

Student ministry

Thank you for your interest in our Student Ministry. We’re here to offer teens community and teaching, leading them into a lifestyle of worship. We invite you come experience this Jesus thing for yourself.

Sunday morning during our second worship service (10:45-noon) Middle school and High School students meet in a place called theSTATION to discuss God and how he speaks into the things that matter in your life. We meet together to worship and pray, then split middle school and high school for discussion groups. We end theANTHEM by joining the worship gathering for Eucharist.

These evening gatherings from 6:00 to 7:30pm are a time to gather in smaller groups to grow in our community with God and each other and serving others.
