Stephen Barrett, DPT
Elder / Shepherd
Stephen and his family have been members of WCC since 2012. Stephen currently serves in the Children's Ministry for 2nd through 5th grade. He has also served as an Elder-Shepherd since 2018. Stephen went to University of Central Florida 2000-2004, graduated with a degree in Health Sciences: Athletic Training track. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Marymount University in 2011. He currently works as a Physical Therapist in Williamsburg and enjoys hanging out with his family, playing sports, and reading.

JOnathan Hamilton
Elder / Shepherd
Jonathan and his family have been members of WCC since 2015. Jonathan currently serves in the “Kidz Konnect” Children’s ministry on Sundays with his wife for the k-1st graders. Jonathan’s family includes three children and a dog. Prior to moving to Williamsburg, Jonathan resided in Pennsylvania raised by his mother and older sister. Jonathan earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and has worked in the electrical industry ever since. Jonathan and his family have made their life in Williamsburg since 2010.

Jason Thornton
Elder / Shepherd
Jason and his family have been members of WCC since 2013. Jason currently serves as a small groups leader and fills in preaching. Jason and Becky have three children: Ethan, Mia and Elijah. Jason serves as the Executive Director at Literacy for Life, a community-based literacy organization helping adults obtain the basic skills they need for life and work. Jason earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and his Master’s in Urban and Intercultural Studies. He pastored two churches prior to beginning his work in adult education.

Erin Otis
Common Life Pastor of Families
Erin began her ministry in WCC as Children's Minister (2013) and now pastors Family Ministry (families with children & MS/HS students) as well as our ministries of Prayer and Care. She is a west coast girl who never thought God’s desire for her would include Williamsburg, Virginia. She moved here in the summer of 2010 with her husband Randy and two daughters, Hatti and Kya. As we all know, God’s desire is the only plan and serving the Lord with WCC and the Williamsburg community is a blessing beyond measure for Erin and her family. Erin has been involved in Children’s Ministry in various roles for fifteen years. Her role as Family Minister to children at WCC began in the fall of 2012. She is passionate about children and sharing the unending love of Christ with them. Erin loves to laugh and spend time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite activities are spending time at the beach, camping, and her children’s sporting and school events. Erin serves on the board of directors of our region's Community Services Board, Colonial Behavioral Health.

Garrett Laubscher
Common Life Pastor of Discipleship & Creative Arts
Garrett began his ministry in WCC as Youth Minister (2004) and now pastors Family Ministry (families with children & MS/HS). Garrett grew up in Florida, a state with no winter the way God intended it. Garrett graduated from Florida Christian College with a degree in Bible and Youth and Family Counseling. It was during this time in college that he met and married Robin who balances him out pretty well. Before moving to WCC they worked at Geneva Park Church of Christ. Garrett loves summer, the beach, and hair. He’s a big fan of good music, from metal to folk. He loves to extend grace and love to as many as possible, helping to make His Kingdom come as he follows Jesus. Robin and Garrett have three kids: Olivia, Eden, and Grayson who teach them about God’s love for His Children.
Garrett serves on the board of directors of 3e Restoration Inc.

latonya Chamberliss
Common life PASTOR of LOCAL MISSION & COMPASSION
Latonya Chamberliss Borden serves as our Minister of Local Mission and Compassion, calling us to be faithful participants in God's mission, from the neighborhood, to the city streets, to the public square. She is a mother of five (one son & four daughters) plus one very active granddaughter. Three of her children are neurodivergent. She is originally from Surry County where she was raised by a single mother who worked two or more jobs to provide for her and taught her the importance of hard work. She has been a Williamsburg, VA resident since 2012 and member of the WCC family since 2017. Latonya's life experiences and persevering faith have prepared her for vocational ministry.
Latonya serves as a board member of 3e Restoration Inc.

Jon Sprankle
Common life pastor of connections & Stewardship
Jon and his family (Sherry is pictured) has been a part of the WCC family since 1997. During that time he has led worship and a missional community. Now he serves as our Community Life Pastor (2018) where he pastors everything from small groups to missional communities to administration and other ministries specific to building up the Common Life of WCC. He has been everything from a Financial Controller for a Fortune 500 company to being a brick mason’s helper. He has been a District Manager for a large formal wear retailer, a cigar store manager, a newspaper magnate, a book retailer, a theme park cast person, a truck driver, and a dairy farm owner. In all of these trades Jon has always been a student striving to learn whatever was available. Whatever God had in store to equip him with. Jon has been a worship leader fast approaching 40 years, singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist, computer geek, coffee snob, Buckeye, shepherd, and missional community leader. Jon currently resides in Williamsburg, Virginia and is the lucky man who calls Sherry his wife. He also has two children; Zac who is married to Courtney (with his three grandchildren, Bella, Grady, and Halli) and Tori who is working on her BFA at VCU. Jon is grateful to God for the call on his life.
Jon serves on the board of directors of Community of Faith Mission (C.O.F.M.).

Fred liggin
Lead Pastor
Fred came to serve greater Williamsburg and WCC as lead pastor in October of 2010 and is grateful to be a part of the family. He is a husband, father, certified trauma professional, S.T.A.R. (strategies for trauma awareness & resilience) practitioner, TEDx alum, founder of 3e Restoration, Inc. and co-owner of Philoxenia Culture LLC. Prior to his 20 years in vocational ministry Fred was a business executive in the technology industry and economics sector. He received his B.S. in Ministry/Bible at Amridge University and his Master’s of Religious Education in Missional Leadership from Rochester University. Currently he is a candidate for a Doctorate of Ministry in Contextual Theology at Northern Seminary in Chicago where his thesis is focused on Hospitality as Trauma-Responsive Liberation: How a Theology of Hospitality in a Racialized Culture of Collective Trauma Forms the Witness of Williamsburg Christian Church. Fred has also served as an adjunct professor for Rochester University and Regent University where he taught courses in philosophy, ethics, leadership, pastoral care, intro to Christianity, and ethnography. He has also served as a guest lecturer on the subjects of racialized cultural systems, poverty, and missiology at various universities, such as William & Mary and Oklahoma Christian University. Fred has authored one book (Racialized Cultural Systems, Social Displacement and Christian Hospitality) and several curriculum offerings, including The FloorPlan: Living Toward Restoration & Resilience.
Fred enjoys hanging out with his family anytime, anywhere. He is deeply grateful for how God graciously works through the Church in all her various forms, despite our brokenness. He is passionate about seeing the last, least, and lonely of every neighborhood, city and nation experience God’s in-breaking kingdom, and come to know Jesus as King. Oh, and his favorite season is Advent and Christmas.
Fred was one of the leaders to organize the City of Williamsburg's historic Truth & Reconciliation Committee. He is also a founding member of the board of directors for Virginia Racial Healing Institute, an Advisory Board member for Sentara Williamsburg Regional Hospital, Freekind, and Bacon Street Youth and Family Services, a member of the leadership team for Williamsburg's local chapter of Coming to the Table, and a member of Greater Williamsburg Trauma-Informed Community Network's Racial Trauma Committee and Training Committee.
